Ted Cruz is planning a massive move to protect religious freedom. Because Trump won and Obama cannot veto the bill, Cruz will reintroduce his bill that gained huge initial support in Congress.
The First Amendment Defense Act would stop the federal government from punishing individuals and corporations if they act on a “religious belief or moral conviction.”
The bill first introduced in 2015, has stalled in the congress on fears of an Obama veto.
“The prospects for protecting religious freedom are brighter now than they have been in a long time,” Cruz said recently.
“Any effort to protect religious liberty has brighter prospects with a new Congress and new administration.”
“Protecting religious freedom from Government intrusion is a Government interest of the highest order,”
Religious liberty has been a passion for me for decades, and it has been something that I have been fighting to defend for many, many years,” Cruz concluded.
Looks like with Trump Congress may finally DO something the American people actually want.
