Conservative talk radio icon Rush Limbaugh says the Washington establishment, media and insiders, Republicans, Democrats, and lobbyists alike are all rejoicing at the American Health Care Act’s (AHCA) spectacular crash and burn. Limbaugh speculates House Speaker Paul Ryan was part of the establishment’s narrative to set President Trump up for embarrassment and humiliation.
Limbaugh believes defeating Trump is the Washington “swamp’s” number 1 priority, regardless of party. They don’t believe Trump should be in the White House because he’s an outsider.
According to Western Journalism, Limbaugh told his massive audience, “I’m not even sure President Trump realizes just how widely opposed he is by the establishment: Capitol Hill, Republicans and Democrats alike”
Limbaugh added, “Trump does not know how Washington works beneath the surface. He doesn’t know how [insiders] do their jobs. They have a very cloaked environment where outsiders don’t really see how they do their jobs. They don’t really see the back-and-forth, the back-scratching, the under-the-table stuff, the below-the-line, above-the-line stuff,” according to Western Journalism.
Rush Limbaugh says, “Trump is doing exactly what he said he was gonna do, as often as he can. He stormed into town and he’s trying to take control and fix the functioning dysfunction of much of Washington, as much as he can. He’s hated and reviled for doing it. It’s not supposed to be possible. Folks, it’s just like you play second base for the New York Yankees, and somebody that’s never played the game is not supposed to make the roster and threaten your job,” noted Western Journalism.
For those who have followed President Trump closely, he usually only loses once, and then he comes roaring back. Remember Iowa and what happened after he lost there? Trump stormed through the rest of the Republican primaries with unprecedented wins.
Paul Ryan may have been manipulated the situation for Trump to fail once, but it is doubtful he will be able to do it a second time. The din for Ryan to step down as House Speaker grows louder by the hour. Whether Ryan resigns as Speaker or not, President Trump will cover his flank for his next battle with Congress.
